The Farmhouse Il Poggiale, 30 Km from Siena and 45 Km from Grosseto, offers hospitality on a 17th century farm. The 7 apartments in the stone buildings have been completely renovated with independent heating and kitchenette in each unit. Wooden beams and antique furnishings add to the warmth and comfort of each apartment. Guests can enjoy special evenings preparing bread and pizza in the traditional outdoor oven next to the farm buildings.
The Farm is located in the gently rolling hills of the pristine green countryside with wonderful views of woods and cultivated fields in the valley. The woods surrounding the farm are filled with ancient oaks, beech and juniper trees which are also home to deer, hare, badgers and pheasants. The clear waters of the Merse River are ideal for a refreshing swim. Besides the relaxed walking tours the Farm is the perfect starting point for visiting historic towns in Tuscany such as Siena, Firenze, Pienza, Massa Marittima, Montalcino, Volterra, San Giminiano, Cortona, etc. Those who enjoy the waters of a health spa can visit the historically famous Terme di Petriolo. You will find numerous typical restaurants and trattorie in the area including the traditional autumn village festivals.
During the summer the beautiful beaches and clean water of the Maremma Nature Park (Uccellina) can easily be reached.
